Psoriasis -

Psoriasis is an autoimmune disorder of the skin that is brought about by the overproduction of certain inflammatory proteins in the body. These proteins cause the red scaly patches seen commonly in psoriasis. Approximately 125 million patients worldwide or about 2-3% of the population are affected with this lifelong disease that there exists no cure for to date.

Patients with psoriasis may also have other symptoms such as arthritis. This can occur in up to 30-40% of patients. It is important to seek evaluation by a dermatologist to gain control and treatment of this disease. Psoriasis can be associated with itching, decreased sleep, depression, high blood pressure and diabetes. It is not just skin deep.

The professionals at Englert Dermatology, LLC specialize in all forms of treatment of psoriasis. Treatments include topical, light, oral medications and biologics that are injectable. Our providers work in concert with you to help clear your psoriasis.
